Our Bronze Group is a beginning
swimming program, and holds practices at the Nina B. Hollis
Wellness Center located at Florida Southern College in Lakeland,
Fl. The age of the swimmers in this group range from 6-12
years of age. This group is designed to help introduce young
swimmers to competitive swimming. The Bronze Group emphasizes
learning and developing the four competitive strokes through
kicking, drills, demonstrations of the strokes, starts, and
turns. We want to provide each swimmer with a solid swimming
foundation while building confidence and having FUN! Though
swimmers are not required to compete, we encourage all athletes to
participate in meets. Why do we want kids to go to meets? So
the kids can see their progress from practice and experience the
atmosphere of competitive swim meets.
Entry in to the Bronze Group
program requires an invitation following tryouts with a LAS Staff
member.
